About
Winner of the 2018 edition of the World Bodypainting Festival in the Team Show Award category
together with the American multi-champion artist Nick Wolfe, Matteo Arfanotti had already risen
to the highest podium of the World Bodypainting Festival in 2013, becoming World Champion in
Bodypainting and Facepainting, thus winning two world titles at the same time, for the first time in
the history of the event.
After dedicating more than two decades to drawing, painting and installation, in 2010, he
approached the world of bodypainting and remained fascinated by the extraordinary ability to give
life to his work and his creatures, even if so ephemeral, for the space of a few hours. Only two years
later, he won the title of Italian Bodypainting Champion and then conquering, the following year,
the two world titles.
Numerous other awards followed in subsequent years in Italy and abroad, opening to him the doors
of the five continents and making him in a short time one of the most internationally appreciated
and requested bodypainter. He is indeed one of the most respected teachers in this discipline,
particularly appreciated for his three-dimensional effects and the "monstrous faces" with which he
creates the illusion of changing characteristics and facial expressions. Several times invited as a
visiting professor for International Make-Up Academies, he has held workshops across Europe and
around the world and his artistic performances are in great demand for events, festivals and shows.
He lives in Tuscany and he works between Italy and the rest of the World.
Matteo will be joining us to deliver a Masterclass on Thursday 5th June 11am - 5pm at a cost of £125 or if you book your ticket for Bath BodyArt Weekend, you can watch him work and speak to him over the course of the weekend and watch his 90 miute workshop on Sunday.
